Clinique Redness Solutions – I started wearing less makeup in December because although I do find it more as a hobby (or as a hoppy, which is what I initially wrote) and confusingly fun, I began to become too reliant on it. I also was a hormonal baby and needed to find a great skincare routine. I use this as a primer and it instantly tones the redness from my skin. It’s lightweight and perfect for sensitive skin.
Fresh Soy Face Cleanser – This stuff is fressssh (ugh). I am obsessed with this company and this cleanser. I tried so many gel cleansers that either sucked away all the moisture from my skin leaving it irritated or had an allergic reaction to it. This cleanser is perfect. It really does remove all the dirt and grime from your skin while moisturizing. Not sure how it does that, but I’m in. My skin looked so much better just after the first use.
Albeit Luminous Lip Oil– I found this puppy on sale at Anthropologie and adore it. It’s super moisturizing, which is the running theme for my dry flaky life. It has a gloss and shine but that somehow looks natural. It’s translucent and you can wear it over lipstick or stain which is perfect since they always dry out my lips.
Mario Bedescu Drying Lotion – So because of this magical and beautiful thing called hormones, I have cystic acne on my chin and jawline that is just a permanent part of my face now. This stuff won’t work on that type of acne, but since I have cystic acne I don’t got no time for any anywhere else. This stuff does miracles for you. I use it at first sight of a pimple and by morning it’s almost non existent.
Kate Somerville Goat Milk Moisturizing Cream – I look forward to putting this stuff on my face. I only use it in the morning, although it says to use morning & night. 1, because it was dang expensive and 2, I use a night cream and am weary about mixing products together. This stuff makes my skin instantly soft, clean, and moisturized. It’s like how sometimes you want to put your eyeballs in a glass of ice water but with this you can actually relieve the dryness.

Ready Player One by Ernest Cline – I already did a review on this book on my ‘Favorite Books I Read in 2016’ post, but I loved these characters and the story.
The Geek Feminist Revolution by Kameron Hurley – Not the best collection of essays I have read on feminism, but interesting from a feminist writer and geek culture standpoint.
Scrappy Little Nobody by Anna Kendrick– Relatable and hilarious. Still wait for that full review of the book & the book tour event. Coming soon.
Silvia’s Cucina by Silvia Colloca – I love beautiful cookbooks and this is a beauty.
Movies & TV
La La Land – I seriously cannot talk about this movie yet. I’m still feeling…way…too…much. Damien Chazelle is definitely my favorite director, and an amazing writer. This is my favorite role Emma Stone has ever done yet, and my heart is still reeling. GO SEE IT RIGHT NOW! Like, right now!
Veep – This is the second time I have re-watched Veep and I still think it’s one of the best comedic shows to ever be made. It’s quick & witty, so pay attention.
