The 90’s nostalgia hit me hard in January and I decided to just go for it. Here are my ultimate favorite things from the month of January!
Tates Gluten Free Chocolate Chip Cookies – I’ve talked about these bad boys before and I will certainly talk about them again. I’m in love and if I’m not baking, these are my go-to cookies. I’m usually a soft baked cookie gal but ever since changing my lifestyle and diet I want something sweet but that isn’t so heavy. Seriously try these!
RX BARS – I always carry a bar with me everyday. I sometimes skip lunch in opt for small snacks instead, and these are perfect for on the go. You’ll be fluxed trying to find a bar that packs so much into it. Completely all natural with no gluten, dairy, or soy. I find this to be a great meal replacement if you eat small portions throughout the day.
Creme de la Earl Grey Tea – I’m not sure you’ll be able to find this to purchase or at a tea shop anywhere besides Portland. Only because I haven’t tried. I had one sip of this stuff and my life changed. If you are a tea person, try this. ‘Medium-strength Earl Grey following in traditional English style, blended with blue mallow blossoms and an essence of French creme.’ The description alone is enough to click buy on that jazz. This is all I order when I go to Townshend’s and I like to stock up.
Heated Blankets – I can’t really talk specifics here, I have the Sunbeam Velvet found on Amazon (click the link ^) and am in love with it. Even though our house stays pretty warm, and we keep the heat down for both energy and cost, I get chilly and one of my favorite things to do is cuddle up under a heated blanket with my cat and stream something or read a book.
Fitbit Charge 2- This year I have really taken a turn when it comes to my lifestyle. There are many reasons for this and it’s not about a new year resolution, it was about wanting to become more healthy and better to the environment. I also want to lose weight and feel better in my skin and in order to accomplish anything and get real serious about it, I needed something to track everything and force me to reach my goals. I held off for a long time on buying any sort of health tracker because it’s costly and I didn’t want this to be just a phase and waste money, but I decided to really dedicate myself and I honestly don’t know if I would if I didn’t have this puppy. I love the Fitbit Charge 2 (my fiance has that Alta and I used to use a Jawbone) because it is highly customizable and you can track everything in one app.
The Woman in Cabin 10 – Mysteries with a female protagonist are my jam. The only issue I run into is I can usually tell where the story and the plot are going. I was completely surprised by the arc of this story. Ruth Ware is an excellent writer. She knows how to drop you into a story instantly with all the tools you need as a reader to become hooked. Without spoiling anything, I will say that the opening of this book (the rest of it too) is totally creepy and although it doesn’t come into play later in the book (as I imagined it would) it is such a perfect way of totally developing a character and also used to psychologically destroy the character later on. So good.
La La Land – Damian Chazelle is one of my favorite directors. This movie made my heart burst and I felt so personally connected to it. Just watch it, because I still do not have words to do this film justice.
Charmed and Buffy – No need to say anything on this matter. I’m a weirdo and I rewatch shows all the time. Sometimes I just need lighthearted but magical or fantastical shows from the 90’s with leading ladies.
